RMT Suite — distribution analytics and merchandising platform
When a system costs $10,000 a year and only a tenth of it gets used
- Client
- Krivoozerska KhSF LLC — mineral water producer
- Industry
- FMCG: manufacturing and distribution
- Role
- Business analyst, solution architect, .NET developer
- Demo
- rmt-field.pohorelov.dev — interactive demo of the mobile app
The problem
Krivoozerska, a mineral water producer, was paying around $10,000 a year for a SaaS distribution analytics and merchandising service. Only about 10% of its features were in use, and the price rose by roughly 20% every year with no room for negotiation.
Thirteen distributors send data daily from their own 1C systems in a fixed format. Any change on their side means separate negotiations, custom work and extra cost.
The goal was an in-house platform that covers the scenarios the company actually uses, requires no changes from distributors, and frees the client from an ever-growing subscription.
The solution
Zero-effort migration for distributors
The exchange format stays the same; distributors only change the address their files are sent to. No changes to their 1C systems, and no developer access to their databases.
RMT Insight — web analytics
Pivot reports on sales by distributor, outlet and SKU. Each distributor is processed through its own profile, and re-sent files never create duplicates.
RMT Field — merchandiser mobile app (Android, iOS)
Route, outlet list and map. A visit takes minutes: shelf price, number of facings and a photo for each of 17 SKUs. Values from the previous visit are prefilled and unchanged rows are highlighted, so merchandisers only edit what has changed. One tap shows the outlet's last 20 sales with document details.
Built to last
A modular monolith. PostgreSQL with monthly partitioning and bulk loading. Background processing in raw, clean and analytics layers (Medallion architecture). Photos go to object storage with automatic compression.
Security
A separate API key per distributor, email one-time-code sign-in, container isolation and a hardened server. The infrastructure is registered to the client, so the data stays under their control.
Results
The project is complete: the platform architecture and infrastructure, the RMT Insight web analytics and the RMT Field mobile app have been delivered. Interactive demo: rmt-field.pohorelov.dev.
The client replaced an ever-rising subscription with a one-off build and fixed support, paying only for what they actually use. The switch required no changes from any of the 13 distributors.
